Lucques – Public Transportation to Fancy Restaurants Project 5.19.17

Public Transportation to Fancy Restaurants Project 5.19.17

Yesterday I took Bus #695 and the #780 Rapid Express to West Hollywood for a delicious lunch at Lucques.

I’ve always love dining at  Lucques.  One of my personal favorite restaurants.  My family has been dining here for almost two decades.  Whether one sits at the bar or at a table – the food tastes great! Yum Yum!

I really love the inside of Lucques.  From the lamps to the brick fireplace – it is a delight for the eyes.  Lucques is a converted Spanish style carriage house.   Story goes that silent movie star Harold Lloyd stored his automobiles here back in the day.

I love hearing the words “Dinner is Served” when dining at Lucques. My taste buds go into overdrive.  Lucques is located on Melrose in West Hollywood.  But now, one can also experience their culinary delight when enjoying a show at the famed Hollywood Bowl.

I got to meet Mercedes (Chef de Cuisine) and Nestor (Sous Chef).  I’m wearing my new Picnic in The Society outfit by Motoguo that I just purchased from the PLEASE DO NOT ENTER store which recently opened up on Melrose a very short distance from Lucques.  My server, Sarah, was super nice – felt a kinship especially after finding out we were both born in New Jersey!

Love on a Pedestal

Love on a Pedestal

It’s not always the best thing to put your love on a pedestal.  If something happens….. it can be a long way to fall.  But,  when your heart is truly connected sometimes a medium sized pedestal is the way to go.   Stand close and fully protect such a love.

Love on a Pedestal MagneticART by Cammie Jones can be purchased for your sweetheart for Valentines Day 2017 at McGinty’s Gallery at the End of the World and HOOPLA!  Celebrate your love all year round!

Hanging Ducks & Dead Pinata

Hanging Ducks & Dead Pinata

I love photographing in Chinatown. The light is beautiful and there are so many shapes and colors.  Many of the storefronts feature Hanging Ducks which I like to draw but would never eat.  Piñata Alley in DTLA is another colorful place that is fun to capture.  I love being surrounded by so many Dead Piñatas. I can’t wait for my next birthday.

Live Snake – Stuffed Dog

Hollywood Blvd hosts many interesting characters.  Young girls love to wrap the big live snake around their bodies.  While at the Lincoln/Cypress Metro Gold Line stop a stuffed dog (yes it was really stuffed) waits with his master for the next train to arrive. I wonder where they are going…….

MagneticART

MagneticART

I have been creating black and white drawings and turning them into MagneticART for over two decades.  In 2016, I created 90 drawings of LA street life for my solo show “I LOVE LA – Street Project”.

I have now started a new project entitled “Public Transportation to Fancy Restaurants – Photo & Drawing Project”.

My Favorite Fancy Restaurant as of date is 71 Above – a sky high restaurant featuring chef Vartan Abgaryan’s modern American cuisine.   They have a 360 view of my beloved Los Angeles and beyond.  So far I have had the Gold Beets (Salt-Roasted, Pistachio Flan, Pickled Beet, Grapefruit, Spicy Greens, the Scallops (Asparagus, Sunflower Seeds, Mushroom, Banyuls Vinegar), the Halibut (Heirloom Tomato, Cucumber, Pearl Onion, Aged Sherry, Coriander, Tarragon), and, the Panna Cotta.  All yummy especially the Gold Beets dish!

I took bus #28 to Spring & 5th then walked up to Grand.  71 Above is on the 71st Floor of the Bank One building directly opposite  the Los Angeles Central Library.

I See Beauty in Everything!

I almost do mean that literally.  It’s one of my strengths.  I have an ability to find something in common with anyone, to see the potential that is just beginning to develop, to be aware of the possibilities, to see beyond what is in my presence, my history, my demons, and, the forethought to take the time to reflect ; to see the beauty in everything.
